Biki is Honolulu's docked bikeshare system, run by the nonprofit Bikeshare Hawaii since 2017. About 1,300 distinctive teal bikes are spread across 130-plus self-service stations from Iwilei and Chinatown to Kaka'ako, Ala Moana, all through Waikiki, and out to Diamond Head and Kapahulu. The single-ride is $4.50 for 30 minutes; the $30 Free Spirit pass gives 300 minutes valid for one year, ideal for visitors. Unlock with the Biki app or a credit card at the station kiosk, ride, and dock at any station to stop the clock. Bikes are sturdy upright three-speeds with built-in lights and racks but no helmets. It is the easiest way to reach Ala Moana Mall (15 minutes) or Diamond Head trailhead (20 minutes) from Waikiki, with mostly flat protected bike lanes along Kalakaua and South King Street.
"Bought a 300-minute package for $30 and used the Biki app, very easy. A fantastic way to see Waikiki and Honolulu, much faster than walking and far cheaper than Ubers."
